What happens next.

Family, criminal, and estate matters across New Mexico. Les Romaine spent years prosecuting cases in Bernalillo County before he started defending them.

Practice areas

Find where you are.

Most people arrive here in the middle of something they did not choose. These are grouped by what is actually happening, not by how a law firm files them.

When family is at stake

Three areas

Family Law

Divorce, custody, support, and the orders that come after them.

Juvenile Law

When a child is charged with an offense, or the state becomes involved with your family.

Guardianship & Kinship

Legal authority for a child already living in your care, so schools and doctors can talk to you.

When you have been accused

One area

Criminal Defense

State and federal charges, from misdemeanors through serious felonies, at every stage from arraignment forward.

When you are planning ahead

Three areas

Estate Planning

Deciding now what happens to what you own, so nobody has to guess later.

Trusts & Wills

The documents that carry those decisions out, drafted to hold up when they are needed.

Real Estate

Purchases, sales, transfers between family, and problems with title.

Les Romaine, attorney

The attorney

Les Romaine, Esq.

Les Romaine is from Albuquerque and has practiced here his whole career. He earned a B.A. in Criminology from the University of New Mexico and his law degree from the UNM School of Law in 2011.

He began at the Second Judicial District Attorney's Office, starting in Metropolitan Court with misdemeanor matters and moving to a serious violent felony division. That means he has stood on both sides of a New Mexico courtroom, and he knows how the other side builds a case before it is ever filed.

He takes on work involving children and families because somebody has to, and he represents people accused of crimes because the accusation is not the verdict.

UNM School of Law, J.D. 2011
University of New Mexico, B.A. Criminology
Former Assistant District Attorney, Second Judicial District
Licensed in New Mexico
Admitted, U.S. District Court for the District of New Mexico
